Keyword Mapping Spreadsheet
Keyword research that doesn't map to specific pages is research that doesn't get used. This spreadsheet bridges the gap between a raw keyword list and a content or on-page optimisation plan.
The template has five tabs: Raw Keywords (dump your exports here), Intent Sorting (group by informational, navigational, commercial, transactional), Page Assignment (map each keyword to an existing or planned URL), Priority Matrix (score by volume, difficulty, and business relevance), and a Competitor Gap tab for terms where competitors rank but you don't.
Each tab includes column instructions in the header row. It's designed to work with exports from Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Keyword Planner, or any tool that outputs keyword, volume, and difficulty columns. You won't need formulas — just paste and sort.
The mapping tab is the most useful part. It forces you to decide, for every keyword cluster, whether you're creating a new page, optimising an existing one, or adding it to a FAQ section. That decision-making is where most keyword research breaks down, and this template makes it explicit.
What you get
- Raw keyword dump tab with sorting instructions
- Intent classification tab (4-bucket framework)
- Page assignment tab with URL, title tag, and H1 columns
- Priority matrix with weighted scoring formula
- Competitor gap analysis tab
Who it's for: SEO strategists and content teams building or refreshing a keyword strategy.
