Quarterly Editorial Calendar
Content teams without an editorial calendar spend more time figuring out what to work on than actually working. A quarterly calendar gives everyone visibility into what's planned, who owns it, and where it stands — without a status meeting.
This Notion template covers one quarter of content planning across blog, email newsletter, and long-form guides. The main database view shows every piece of content with columns for title, content type, target keyword, content pillar, assigned writer, status (idea, brief ready, in draft, in review, scheduled, published), target publish date, and distribution channels.
Multiple views are pre-built: a Kanban board for status tracking, a calendar view for publish dates, a filtered view per writer for individual workload, and a content pillar coverage view to spot imbalances.
A companion tab stores the quarterly content themes and campaign alignment — so every piece of content has a reason to exist beyond "we should blog more." There's also a post-publish checklist embedded in each content entry: promotion tasks (social, newsletter, internal linking, link outreach) that need to happen after a post goes live.
Works for teams of one up to content teams of eight or more.
